Online services offered by the Tamilnadu Pollution Control Board to industries / traders / battery dealers

PRESS RELEASE

Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board has been providing following online services to the industries and the local bodies through its online application named Online Consent Management and Monitoring System (OCMMS) since January 2015:

1. Issue of Consent to Establish, Consent to Operate and Renewal of Consent

2. Issue of Authorization and Renewal of authorization under Hazardous Waste Management Rules, Biomedical Waste Management Rules, EWaste Management Rules and issue of registration under Plastic Waste Management Rules.

3. Filing of Annual Returns under Hazardous Waste Management Rules, Biomedical Waste Management Rules, Plastic Waste Management Rules, EWaste Management Rules and Solid Waste Management Rules.

Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board has now developed the online application for the following services in the OCMMS platform for the industries, local bodies, hazardous waste importers, dealers and consumers of Lead acid batteries. These services have been operationalized from 9th August, 2021 at the website ocmms.tn.gov.in.

1. Issue of authorization under Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 :
The local body / agency appointed by them/ operator of facility can apply for authorization under the Rule 15 (y) and can also submit the annual return every year through this service.

2. Issue of authorization under the Construction and Demolition Waste Management Rules, 2016 :
The operator of the facility as specified in the Rules 7 (1) can apply in Form I for authorization and can also submit the annual returns every year using this service.

3. Issue of one time authorization for traders under Hazardous Waste Management Rules :
Traders who import other waste mentioned in Part D of Schedule III of Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 can make application for one time authorization through this service.

4. Issue of registration for battery dealers under the Battery (Management and Handling) Rules 2001 as amended :
The dealers as defined under the Rules can apply for registration through this service.

5. Filing of annual returns under the Battery (Management and Handling) Rules 2001:
Battery manufacturer / bulk consumers / importers / recyclers / auctioneers can submit the Annual returns to Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board through this service.

The industries can use of the above services online from 16.08.2021 onwards.
