Synopsis
Aadhaar can be obtained by anyone, including newborns and children. A child under the age of five does not have biometric information such as fingerprints or iris scans. When these children reach the ages of five and 15, they will need to have get biometrics updated.
Aadhaar number is a 12-digit random number provided by the UIDAI (“Authority”) to residents of India who have completed the Authority’s verification process. During the enrolment procedure, the person who wishes to enrol must provide demographic and biometric information. Caste, religion, income, health, geography, and other factors are not captured during the Aadhaar enrolment process.
Many schools ask for Aadhaar number of kids during admission procedures. If you haven’t already done so, you should apply for your child’s Aadhaar today. Aadhaar can be applied for by anyone of any age, including newborns and children.

1) Child’s birth certificate or Govt. hospital discharge slip
2) Aadhaar of one of the parents Note that parent needs to visit Aadhaar Seva Kendra with the child aged below 5 years for biometric authentication.
Aadhaar for kids below 5 years
Biometrics are not developed for children under the age of five. As a result, biometric information such as fingerprints and iris scans are not included in a child’s Aadhaar data. Biometrics must be updated once the child reaches the age of five.
Aadhaar for kids above 5 years
When these youngsters turn 5 and 15, they will need to update their biometrics, which includes ten fingers, iris, and a photograph of their face. The original Aadhaar letter will contain an indication to this effect.
How to register for Baal Aadhaar Card offline
Step 1: Visit the nearest Aadhaar Card Enrollment Center.
Step 2: Fill out the relevant form, for children Aadhaar card
Step 3: Submit the form along with birth certificate and aadhaar card of parent.
Step 4: The parent’s Aadhaar card information and mobile number must be provided.
Step 5: Following the verification process, the child’s photograph will be taken. Children under the age of five will not have their biometrics taken.
Step 6: If the child is five years old or older, an photograph and biometric data such as an iris scan and fingerprints will be taken.
Step 7: Save the acknowledgment slip that was given to you at the centre for future reference.
Step 8: You will receive a text message within 60 days, and your Baal Aadhaar will be provided within that time frame.
How to register online for kids’ Aadhaar
Step 1: Visit UIDAI’s official website and register for a Baal Aadhaar Card online.
Step 2: Go to the Aadhar Card registration page and click on it.
Step 3: Fill in all of the required information, such as the child’s name, parent’s phone number, and e-mail address.
Step 4: After entering all of the personal information, fill in all of the demographic information.
Step 5: Click on the Fix Appointment tab to continue. Now is the time to set a date for registering for an Aadhar card.
Step 6: The applicant can proceed with the enrolling process by selecting the nearest enrollment centre.
Step 7: Visit the nearest Aadhaar Card Enrollment Center.
Step 8: Submit the form along with a birth certificate and aadhaar card of parent.
Step 9: The parent’s Aadhaar card information and mobile number must be provided.
Step 10: Following the verification process, the child’s photograph will be taken.
